Hello! I am Erin Mitchell, not Tai Ping. I'm Scottish for what it's worth (Ken). I love to travel and I'm learning to code. MacBook out, I am blogging on my sofa in a fluffy dressing gown in Richmond. The heating is on full blast so I'm sweating as if in a hammock in the tropics and I'm enjoying the freedom of wearing little and no longer working a nine to five. A digital nomad almost indeed.
No but, this really is my aspiration and I'm planning to do it rather than make excuses. I had a go at some free online coding courses and actually like it. So, I'm signed up for a coding bootcamp in Bali. I could do it all from home but I doubt I have the discipline and if I'm going to do this digital nomad thing properly I need to get out of the house and build a relevant network.
I have pretty decent networks in everything I've done so far but this is totally different. When each new door opens another one kind of closes and so with the excitement comes bit of sadness. This sounds obvious when I write it but it is hard emotionally not to let the sadness and uncertainty hold you back, especially when there's no one there to catch you at the other side.
Bali: Been there before. Like it A LOT. Very chilled. Very zen. Very conducive to learning. Bali Vibes align with my values. My values align with Bali Vibes. Bali is a good place to start.
Sunkissed skin, Sandy toes and Salty kisses is the hug that's waiting for me.
This blog will be my journal as I experience this first hand. It hasn't been easy even getting to this point and sometimes I do doubt myself but I can't deny the fire in my belly.
The purpose of sharing this is to connect with other people who have done the same thing and importantly to those who aren't quite there yet, the extra push to burst their bubble.
